With Christmas just around the corner, we would like to remind you of a few simple things that you can do to ensure you pet is kept healthy and safe over the Christmas season.

With lots of great holiday food and treats readily available, be aware that these can be very enticing for our animals and it is therefore important  to keep them out of your pet’s reach

…   This is especially true for treats that contain chocolate, xylitol (artificial sweetener), grapes/raisins, onions, garlic and other toxic food

If a cat is part of your pet family, consider not using tinsel to decorate your tree.  Tinsel, if eaten, can easily be caught in the digestive tract of cats and create serious issues.

Do not leave your pet alone in a room with lit candles or potporri – this can easily result in fires or painful burns

Keep holiday plants such as holly, mistletoe lillies out of reach of pets as these can create significant health issues if ingested

If your pet becomes scared or excitable with company, consider providing a safe, comfortable place for your pet to retreat to if needed.

We would also like to you remind everyone of our Christmas hours.
